"A" INTRODUCTION

Ok, so here's most definitely one of the greatest British bands around at the moment. They are simply fantastic, on record and live, and guarantee 100% fun! "A" combine punk-rock with irresistible pop melodies, and chunks of cheeky humour to make an energetic and exciting band. "A" chose their name so, because they wanted their records to be first on music shelves, which sums up their humour! They don't care about punk rock cred - in fact some of the bands that have influenced "A" certainly wouldn't be considered to be "cool" nowadays, but like that's going to stop them having fun? I absolutely adore "A", as I love their punk rock sound AS WELL AS the added weird and tuneful sounds created by the keyboards. They are a pleasure to see live and to meet, as they a nice bunch of guys having fun; what more could you ask for from a band! On Sunday 24 February 2002, "A" achieved their first ever U.K top 40 "hit" with the single "Nothing". Since I first saw "A" live back in 1998, all I could have ever wished was for them to do well and gain the recognition they deserved. Baring in mind that the nearest "A" had ever come before then in getting a "hit" single in this country was with the re-issue of "No.1", which got to number 47, I was over the moon when "Nothing" charted at number 9!
